The table gives the explanation of the different types of family who were living in poverty in Indonesia in 2002.

On average, 15% of all households on which the total was almost two million people, were in this position. However, those two million people who consisting of only one parent or single adult had almost double this proportion of poor people. The total of sole parent was 30% and the total of single adults with no children was 25%.

The couple people generally tended to be better off, with lower poverty levels for couples without children (9%) than those with children (18%). It can be inferred that for both types of household with children, a higher than average amount of people were living in poverty at that time.

Generally, the older people were less likely to be poor. However, the trend, once again, favoured elderly couples (only 7%) than the single elderly people (10%).

In conclusion, the table suggests that households of adults who are single and those adults with children were more likely to live in poverty than those households which was consisting of couples.
